When we have time making web updates via the many networking tools out there - facebook, caring bridge, twitter, picasa, you name it, we'll spend time updating Dad's caring bridge site: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/paulcohill/
To recap what's happened over 3 months or so.... My father had colon surgery to remove a noncancerous mass in March. Since the surgery, he's had multitple organ complications and countless procedures to try get him stable and onto to rehab but nearly 3 months in ICU, he's still fighting for his life and will not be moved out of ICU until he becomes more stable. I've travelled to the US 2 different times for a total of 4 weeks to spend time with him, my mom and sister. We've had many special moments with him in the hospital and stand strong with full faith that whatever his outcome, his hope is now in Jesus and Dad has entered into God's kingdom whether he's here or beyond.
Beyond borders. In between traveling to the US, we've been on the go, here and there from NL to Prague. Mom visited for a few days while she went on a cruise through the Mediterranean. The past few months has shown us how to value and cherish the moments with those you love and to be thankful for the time and opportunity to grow in deeper relationships. Dad has shown us to remain strong, hopeful, and in faith during the uncertainty and as Scott and I approach a year of uncertainty of our time in Europe and again, beyond borders, we know to enjoy each moment and not to worry about tomorrow. God is already there. In fact, I recall one of my very first posts here on blogger was almost 3 years ago and was about discerning future plans and how to know the road we travel - and until we're there again, we're content here, there or anywhere beyond borders.
